Event Spotlight
Hosted in Australia (specifically Veresdale, Queensland), SEQ Liberty offers unique equestrian events that nurture the powerful bond between horses and their handlers. This organization’s partnership with TicketLeap is a brilliant example of how the right tools can simplify operations and elevate the entire event experience.
The SEQ Liberty Competition is unlike your typical horse event. Rather than traditional horseback riding, this competition centers around riders working with their horses without any physical restraints such as ropes, halters, or bridles. It’s a discipline that demands patience, trust, and an extraordinary level of communication between each horse and handler. This event showcases a wide range of classes, from beginner on-line divisions to advanced routines featuring multiple horses and complex maneuvers.
Held in an indoor arena, the event welcomes spectators free of charge, making it accessible to families, horse enthusiasts, and curious newcomers alike. The competition’s event organizer, Sam Williamson, shared one particularly memorable moment with us that featured a mother and her two young daughters (just four and six years old) performing alongside their two ponies.“The routine was so beautiful to watch,” Sam shared. “As an organizer and judge, I felt so privileged to be able to host an event that encourages a non-ridden relationship and connection with horses, and then to be able to see this beautiful family working together with their ponies was just priceless.” It’s these moments that define this Australian horse event and keep the community coming back.

Behind the scenes, running a liberty horse competition comes with its own set of challenges, especially when it comes to managing event registrations, payments, and attendance. For organizer Sam Williamson and her team, TicketLeap has become an essential part of making the event run smoothly by processing their competition entry fees. By moving away from manual booking and payment tracking, they’ve been able to eliminate missed payments and streamline how they manage their events.
As Sam explains, “TicketLeap makes it so much easier to run my events now that I don't have to keep track of payments personally. The website takes care of all of it for me, and I can easily just download a report to see who is attending.” She remarked how she used to manage all bookings and payments on her own, and it led to regularly missing a few people who didn’t pay.
She also highlights how affordable TicketLeap’s fees are and how it’s “really easy to check in on how many tickets have sold, issue refunds, etc.” Features like cloning events have also saved lots of valuable time when planning recurring competitions. Instead of starting from scratch each time, she can duplicate previous setups and focus more on delivering a great experience.

The SEQ Liberty Competition is a perfect example of how passion-driven equestrian events can flourish with the right support. By combining a meaningful, community-focused experience with a streamlined ticketing solution, this organizer can focus on what truly matters: creating memorable moments between people and their horses. For event organizers across Australia, it’s a reminder that even small-scale events can have a big impact with the right tools and approach.
