Event Spotlight
For Australian artist James Iheakanwa, professionally known as B Wise, making music is a process he wants to share with his fans. His concert series WIP (Work In Progress) invites fans directly into the creative process, turning intimate shows in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane into collaborative listening sessions where unreleased music gets shaped in real time.
Now in its second year as of 2026, WIP has cultivated a close-knit community of creatives. Unlike traditional concerts, these shows are live listening sessions where unreleased songs are shared in their working form, alongside live performances of released favorites. DJs set the tone, honest conversations unfold between tracks, and the room is intentionally small so every attendee feels part of something meaningful.
What truly sets WIP apart is its collaborative energy. Guests are invited to offer real-time feedback, shaping the music before it’s officially released. During the current album roll-out, B Wise tested a track called “Ihunanya (LOVE)” across multiple cities. The chorus instantly resonated, and the crowd’s response helped guide the decision on the next single.

To bring an intimate, multi-city concert series like WIP to life, selecting the right ticketing platform was essential for B Wise. A key priority was offering pay-as-you-wish or donation-style ticketing to keep the experience accessible while supporting him as an independent artist. Finding a platform that could handle donation-style ticketing wasn't straightforward because local options were limited. TicketLeap's Australian presence made a difference: fair fees, real-time support in the same time zone, and a setup that didn't require working around a platform built for a different market.
TicketLeap simplifies event set-up, attendee communications, and ticket sales tracking in one place, while its easy-to-use scanning app ensures smooth check-in at the show. As B Wise mentioned himself, “It empowers independent artists and creatives to work with a reliable ticketing infrastructure, and feel confident while being able to focus on the event planning itself.” Just as importantly, attendee data from TicketLeap lets B Wise stay in touch with his community between shows. With reliable ticketing in place, B Wise can focus on curating the experience for his shows.

With plans to return in 2026 for WIP Volume 3, the vision continues to grow. Future editions aim to spotlight both new and established artists from across Australia, providing them with a platform to engage directly and intimately with their audiences. As WIP evolves, its core mission remains the same: to create a space where music is shaped in community, not in isolation. The right tools behind the scenes – like TicketLeap – help make that creativity possible! If you’d like to learn more about B Wise and check out his music, you can follow him on Instagram or TikTok.
